The power of nature has always mesmerized people, in ancient times people worshiped of different Gods, who were the rulers of varied natural phenomena. Wind, fire, earth, water - these phenomena can be both destructive and creative. The people were not always a necessary part of Earth’s life, but the other should be said about nature. Nature has always existed in the Universe and the creation of it is the interesting things to look at. Water is the basis of the river and glaciers; it has a great impact on every part of the Earth.  Water takes the biggest part of the whole planet that is why rivers and glaciers were chosen for this essay.

The USA’s continent is abundant in the climate and different earth pattern; it is not an easy task to find something special. Glacier National Park is the place where a bigger part of the glaciers are located, and on its territory, there are 37 glaciers and more than 130 lakes. The park is located in the Montana State, near to the Canadian border.

The relief, which the park possesses, is the result of the last Ice Age. Nevertheless, due to Global warming, some glaciers are melting down. Blackfoot Glacier is one of the largest glaciers that are present at the park. Its size is drastically changing comparing the numbers of 1966 when its size were 1,832,451.35 m^2, and the data from 2015 - 1,498,505.92 (USGS). Regarding the photo, it is easy to observe that the problem of global warming has affected the glacier. The absence of a snowcap at the very top of a glacier is a significant signal of the changes that people try to deny. The disappearing of the big parts should worry about humanity.

Saving the whole glaciers is a task that can be hardly managed by people, that is why glaciologist extract the ice or parts of the core from the glaciers, its surface has the information about previous centuries and the possible disappearance of the ice and the data that the ice stores is disturbing (Leu). People can solve the problem because of the main impact made by a climate but at the same time all of the things that people do affect the Earth and its condition. That is why being more environmentally friendly can help the Earth; it means to recycle garbage, do not create more plants, in other words, reducing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere can really help (Davies).

All of the parts of nature are inseparably connected, as a child connected with the mother. The glacier feeds not every river, but the Columbia River is the one that feeds from a glacier. That is why its life connected directly with the glaciers and their role in the constant flow of life. Columbia River is the fourth by its size in America, its length above 2000 kilometers. This river crosses Canadian province and due to this situation in 1909, there was made a treaty about bordering waters.

Canada was made to build dams and in exchange, the USA was a supplier of electric power. This deal shows the best part of the people personality, that they did not damage the river as people could this do. Some damages were made as to the change of the landscape and the river ecosystem. Nevertheless, the impact of dams affected the salmon population that disturbed people protecting the Earth. The salmon population changed because of the inability to pacing up the stream in the spawning time. Different propositions were discussed in the high cabinets in order to blow up one of the dams and let the salmon populate. The materialistic side was prevailing as the biggest part of the past. Only in 2011, one dam named Condit was destroyed.

The condition in which both natural phenomena is not the best. The problems of Global warming and melting glaciers have always been the things that stressed scientists who work with nature on its different levels. The connection between two natural phenomena that were chosen for this work was not a coincidence. As it was said earlier – all of the actions has its consequences. As the glaciers start to melt, the river floods the nearest territory, causing at the same time problems with electricity, gas and other means that are needed for human life. The main thing that people should think about and keep in their minds is that a single person makes an enormous impact on nature, starting with using too much water while brushing teeth and ending in using diesel-powered cars. The problem with the environment and people’s impact on it is bigger that could ever be imagined. Only when people will remember that they are the part of nature, maybe only that time the problems with natural phenomena will end or at least decrease in the number.

Touring with the help of Google Earth is an amazing opportunity given to people who cannot travel to different places because of some problems or because of the inaccessibility of the place. For example, glacier Blackfoot is not the place that is easy to reach. The only problem with this application is that the pictures from the previous years cannot be shown parallel to the modern photos. The absence of 3D scenery sometimes is very unpleasant, but nevertheless, this engine gathered all of the possible information at one place and it is available at any time.
